Terms of service
CodedCart is a marketplace: verified sellers list gadgets, we operate the storefront, the payment flow and the dispute process around them. These terms cover both sides of that - buying and selling - and apply whenever you use the site.
Who we are
CodedCart is operated by CodedCart, Ontario, Canada. Write to support@codedcart.com about an order or privacy@codedcart.com about your personal information.
Your account
You need an account to buy, save listings or sell. Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself: anything done through a signed-in session is treated as done by you.
One account per person. We may suspend or close an account for fraud, payment abuse, misrepresented listings or harassment of other users, and we record the reason when we do.
You must be 18 or older to create an account. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up to confirm it.
Listings and prices
Listings, including photographs, descriptions and condition grades, are supplied by the seller. Only approved sellers can list, and we delist anything we find inaccurate, but we do not manufacture or inspect every unit.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude sales tax. Your cart shows the items and shipping before you check out; the payment page adds sales tax for your delivery address and shows the final total before you pay. Nothing else is added. Stock is not held for you until payment completes.
Orders and payment
An order is created when you open checkout and is only a purchase once payment succeeds - until then nothing is charged and no stock is reserved.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. If a payment fails or is reversed, the order is cancelled and any stock is released.
Delivery
We ship across Canada. Delivery is free on orders of $100.00 or more; below that a flat $15.00 applies. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees - carrier delays happen and are not grounds for a claim on their own.
Risk passes to you on delivery. If something arrives damaged, tell us within the return window and we will deal with the seller and the carrier on your behalf.
Returns and warranty
You can return most items within 5 days of delivery. The shipping and returns policy sets out what is eligible, who pays for return shipping and how refunds are made.
Nothing here limits the rights you have under provincial consumer protection legislation, which apply regardless of what these terms say.
Selling on CodedCart
Sellers are approved before they can list. You are responsible for grading condition honestly, holding the stock you list, shipping promptly once an order is paid, and for any warranty you offer on top of ours.
We can delist, suspend selling privileges or withhold a payout where a listing is misdescribed or orders go unfulfilled. Moderation decisions are recorded with a reason and can be appealed by writing to sellers@codedcart.com.
Reviews
Only verified purchasers can review a listing, and the review is attached to that purchase. We remove reviews containing personal information, abuse or content unrelated to the product - we do not remove a review for being negative, and sellers cannot pay to have one taken down.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss - lost profit, lost data, or loss arising from a seller's conduct - and our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.
This limit does not apply to anything that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death and personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes and governing law
We update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed; continuing to use the site after that is acceptance of the current version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
